Strawberries, soulful canines and midsummer dreams! A few personal highlights from June 2026, captured in tiny wee snapshots.
This is my latest monthly selection of snapshots of things that caught my eye over these past few weeks, comprising the month of June 2026.
Sunday 7 June 2026: Debut strawb

First strawberry of the 2026 vintage all ready to go (and right tasty it proved, too)!
Tuesday 9 June 2026: Buddha avec…

One Buddha, some daisies.
Monday 15 June 2026: MJCarty at large

MJCarty a la Ashdown Forest (June 2026 edition).

A most soulful gaze from the lovely Meg.
Friday 19 June 2026: Loveliness directly above

Arboreal loveliness (from the Ashdown Forest collection).
Saturday 20 June 2026: Still in a dream

(When you wake) you’re still in a dream. In this case: A dream of midsummer.

Gorgeous dawn glimpsed as if still in a dream.
Monday 22 June 2026: …but make it iced

One of the best things about the June 2026 heatwave that hit some parts of the UK is the chance to welcome the return of iced cawfee season!
Tuesday 23 June 2026: A manner most dramatic

The sun breaks through in a manner most dramatic on what at that point promised (and which in retrospect proved to be) to be the hottest day of the year so far.
Friday 26 June 2026: What would the shepherd’s have to say?

Red sky at morning, for the third day of the extreme heat weather warning. Some of the final days covered by this post have proven to be record-setting for parts of the UK in terms of June temperatures.
Now: whatever might July 2026 (and, indeed, the second half of this year in which we find ourselves) have in store?
