MJCarty snapshots May 2026

Of roses, robins and, well, MJCarty! A few personal highlights from May 2026, captured in tiny wee snapshots.

This is my latest monthly selection of snapshots of things that caught my eye over these past few weeks, comprising the month of May 2026.

Saturday 25 April 2026: Beautiful plumage

Jet plumes in the vast open sky, heavy mist at ground level.

A robin sits firm upon a branch that has taken a tumble.

Wednesday 29 April 2026: Bluebell army

Bounteous bluebells (as witnessed in the Ashdown Forest vicinity).

Tuesday 12 May 2026: By any other name

I was delighted to spot the first rose of 2026 in my garden, hiding in an out-of-the-way corner.

Wednesday 13 May 2026: Sunburst

Mellowest sunshine through the treetops.

Saturday 16 May 2026: Not silent

All music can be thought of as ‘not silence’. What piece of ‘not silence’ means the most to you right now? I both ask and answer this question in my blog post Not silence.

Let sleeping Megs lie.

Wednesday 20 May 2026:

MJCarty a la Ashdown Forest (May 2026 edition).

Saturday 30 May 2026:

Field trip to Endor.

Thursday 28 May 2026: Further roseage

The late-May heatwave that has enveloped and embraced the UK has sent the roses into a growing spree, so here is one more lovely such specimen.

Friday 29 May 2026: Above us

One further and final picture for this month. Beautiful, epic (if a sky can, indeed, be described as epic) early-morning sky to welcome the final Friday of May 2026.

Now: whatever might June 2026 have in store?
