Cybermen, (coincidental) smileys and spam! A few of my personal highlights from May 2023, captured in tiny wee snapshots.
This is my latest monthly selection of snapshots of things that caught my eye over these past few weeks, which taken together comprise the month of May 2023…
Friday 12 May 2023: An emotional Cyber-moment…
“You OK, hun?”
A gentle moment between two Cyberpersonages, as the Cyber-controller places a reassuring hand on the shoulder of a forlorn-looking Cyberman.
Saturday 13 May 2023: Bluebells
Some rather lovely bluebells.
Monday 15 May 2023: Coincidental smiley
Spotted on my early morning walk – someone’s lost hairband on the pavement, encircling three wee stones to create a coincidental smiley face!
Tuesday 16 May 2023: The forest at dawn
The rising sun casts some lovely shades onto the trees, as glimpsed on my early morning walk around the forest’s edge.
18 May 2023: Five years
On this particular Thursday I realised that it was somehow five years to the day since I had the immense privilege of finally being able to meet my dear and long-term Twitter friend Steve Browne in real life! I was both chuffed and geeked that day (as I hope the photograph conveys).
For me, the words “five years” always call to mind the David Bowie song of that title (the opening track from Bowie’s epochal album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardus and the Spiders from Mars). Bowie also played a part in that day with Mr Browne, as we found our way to the olde red ‘phone box depicted on the back of the Ziggy Stardust LP.
Wednesday 24 May 2023: Purple reign II
Some very lovely purple flowers, which I spied in a nearby forest. I have no idea what kind of flowers these might be – so please do drop me a line if you are able to identify them. And thank you to my friend Kate Griffiths-Lambeth, who inspired the title of this day’s selection, with her own recent “purple reign” tweet, depicting some appropriately-coloured flowers.
Friday 26 May 2023: Sunflower update!
To close out this month’s wee round-up of snapshots, a progress report on my first ever attempt at growing sunflowers (after I was gifted some seeds back in March, by my lovely friend Liz). I have four sunflowers on the go, and this one is (currently) showing the most growth. The weather seems finally to be warming up a tad, so I am hopeful that the sunflowers might consider rocketing upwards henceforth…
What about you, gentle reader? What has made or is making your month memorable? I would love to know! Post a comment below, or send me a tweet with your snapshots of May 2023.
May you be nothing but kind today, to others and to yourself.
May today be nothing but kind to you and yours.
