Of crocuses, gorse and London’s Thames-side beaches! A few personal highlights from March 2025, captured in tiny wee snapshots.
This is my latest monthly selection of snapshots of things that caught my eye over these past few weeks, comprising the month of March 2025 (but starting with an image from the closing days of February, picking up from my previous monthly pictorial round-up).
Thursday 27 February 2025: Lost in a forest?

An MJCarty avec backdrop of a surprisingly sunny – but still distinctly chilly – Ashdown Forest.
Saturday 1 March 2025: Many versions of you

There will be many versions of you in this one lifetime. What version of you will you leave behind in the hearts and minds of others?
Sunday 2 March 2025: Magnificently moody

Magnificently moody March morning.
Monday 3 March 2025: Ashdown Forest beauty
My wife quite rightly says that each year’s first spring (or spring-like) visit to the Ashdown Forest is an especially wonderful treat. This day’s visit was exactly that. In the first picture from the day, we see some Exmoor ponies grazing on the Ashdown Forest.

Ashdown Forest crocuses.

Silhouette.
Thursday 6 March 2025: Castles made of sand

Photographic proof positive that not only does London have sandy beaches, but also that said sand can be transformed into beautiful sculpture.
Saturday 8 March 2025: Recovery will not be rushed

For any soul on any kind of road to recovery, it will prove a long and arduous process. But sticking with this path might be the only route to positive transformation.

My favourite tree. This is the same tree that made an appearance in my 2022 post Renewal.

Stumped (and somewhat mossy).
9 March 2025: Gorse, of course

Gorse catching some rays.
Saturday 15 March 2025: Liberty?

In extraordinary, overwhelming times, it is more important than ever not to lose sight of what truly matters. Some words from my post Truth, compassion and integrity matter.
Tuesday 18 March 2025: In conference

A rare insight into my working life. I attended an excellent conference in London, entitled The Changing Role of the HR Leader, and organised by the good folk of the Corporate Research Forum. I arrived very early, hence the all-but-empty room. Rest assured that soon after this the place was absolutely packed.
Thursday 20 March 2025: Moonfall

A last glimpse of the moon, right before it fell back below the horizon.
Friday 28 March 2025: Mysterious visitor

A most unexpected visitor to round off this month of March. This odd-looking insect wandered in from my garden. I had no idea who this new friend might be. So I shared this photograph on social media, and am advised that it is a bee fly. A pleasure to make your acquaintance!
