Dragonflies, unicorns and resurrected sunflowers! A few personal highlights from September 2023, captured in tiny wee snapshots.
This is my latest monthly selection of snapshots of things that caught my eye over these past few weeks, comprising the month of September 2023.
The change of seasons is once again upon us. September started with a last valiant effort from the summer sun, before the gradual slide into autumn began. I love to watch the seasons change, and have tried this past month to capture a few images of summer’s last stand and autumn’s first gentle notes.

My 2023 spud crop is now fully harvested!
Monday 4 September 2023: A sky of rich tonalities

Beautiful tones to the sky on this misty September morning as the sun starts to consider its rise.
Friday 15 September 2023: Dawn breaks

Saturday 16 September 2023: The reddest of roses?

Perhaps the final roses of this summer from my garden?
Colour and fragrance to be savoured.

Some distinctive autumnal shades just starting to creep into the leaves in the local forest.
Thursday 21 September 2023: Sunflower resurrection

Blimey!
The sunflower I accidentally beheaded a few weeks back (see MJCarty snapshots August 2023) is starting to flower again.
Fingers crossed for sufficient sunshine over the next few days for the petals fully to unfurl!
Friday 22 September 2023: Of bees and unicorns

Pavement unicorn with autumn leaves.
